When you donate, you are enabling the work of Legacies of War that is necessary for:
ADVOCACY
For 20 years, our work has led to a critical increase of U.S. funding for humanitarian mine action activities in Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Still, 50+ years after the last American bombs were dropped, thousands of lives have been lost, millions of unexploded bombs remain, and economic growth is held hostage.
Our goal is to secure $80M in U.S. funding for mine action activities in Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam for 2025. Legacies receives none of the U.S. funding that we advocate for.
EDUCATION
In 2024, only seven U.S. states mandate that Asian American history be included in curriculum.
Our goal is to permanently preserve and protect the unique contributions, experiences, cultures, and languages which have not been recognized.
Voices from survivors of American bombings on Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam will never be forgotten through: Legacies Library, Thip Khao Talk Podcast, Khao Niew’s Classroom, and our internship programs.
COMMUNITY
Together in 2023, we brought history, healing, and hope to over 100k participants and 16 community organizations in the U.S. and around the globe.
As we celebrate our 20th Anniversary this year, we continue to use art, culture, education, and community organizing around events (virtually and in person) to bring people together as we engage audiences in panel discussions, creative convening, and programming centered around history, healing, and hope.
